Ames Perceptual Demonstrations

Ames perceptual demonstrations: Objects, even people, are bigger—or smaller!—than they appear.

Even when we know that what we are perceiving is not true, we still perceive it. When two people stand on opposite sides of a distorted room [as designed by Adelbert Ames Jr.] and a third looks into the room via a peephole, it appears that one is enormously larger than the other.
