Loving

Loving: “Love someone, or something, but love.”  —R. H. BLYTH

Limerence and infatuation are definitely altered states of consciousness. When we “fall in love”, we are stimulated and feel magically energized. We obsessively and passionately seek to be near our loved one or fantasize about them, in order to get the big neurochemical hit of hormones. Attachment love, dare we call it “vintage love,” is also often referred to as the quiet love, especially compared to the excitement generated in infatuation loving. This longer-term contact form of loving, because of different hormones creates a different high.
