Rational Psychotherapy

Rational psychotherapy: Situations do not cause feelings; beliefs do.

The aim of the therapy is to help the patient understand and realize what internalized sentences are now the basis of their thoughts, which are the cause of feelings. Once this is discovered, the patient is encouraged to substitute more positive, more rational, and more realistic supportive sentences. It is believed that this sentence substitution will help the patient to change their own behavior.
